The contrast of background and foreground graphic colors of car stickers for windows. And, will decals stick to brushed metal?

Question: I’m designing a simple two color sticker or decal for car windows, and wanted to know which you would recommend – A) light copy on a dark background, or B) dark copy on a light background?

This is a great question, and one I can demonstrate visually which one works best. To start with, though, I’ll tell you what we’ve advised our clients for over twenty years on this very subject.

Drive down a busy street in the town or city where you live and glance at various signs that line the streets.

Taking stickers off car window effectively, and where you can buy UV/Saltwater-resistant boat decals.

Question: There are a bunch of stickers on the windows of the car I just purchased. How do I get those off without damaging my “new” car?

Glass has one big advantage to many other surfaces. You don’t necessarily need to use heat to remove decals from it. However, you can use heat if you choose to, a hair dryer on high heat or a heat gun on low heat will both suffice.

However, I’ve removed thousands of stickers and graphics from vehicle windows as well as from storefront windows or the like,
 Keep Reading →

How to eliminate wrinkles from window Decals, and to install car stickers on windows with tints.

Question: How do I remove a wrinkle from a car window decal?

The answer will depend on when you installed it.

If Under 4 Hours

If it’s been under 4 hours, a little heat from a hair dryer and carefully peeling the sticker back until the wrinkle has been lifted, then a little heat to soften the decal, and it should lay down relatively flat, with maybe a hint that it was wrinkled at one time,
 Keep Reading →

That’s a pretty strong statement I made in the title, saying that people need car stickers and decals, isn’t it?

Now, just so you know, although I am the V.P. of sales and marketing for Visigraph, a company that prints these graphics, I personally don’t use them myself, so I understand people who don’t and I really don’t care if you do put them on your car or if you purchase them from me. Oh…I just remembered….my wife just put an “UPWARDS” decal on our van to support our son’s sports league. Doh!

Why People Need Car Decals Stickers and Labels on Their Vehicle Windows

I have not done a scientific study of socio-economic layers of society to determine what percentage of the population puts graphic displays on their vehicles.

America has a love affair with the window decal sticker and almost every car you see has at least one graphic proclaiming that they went to Impressive State University or that there are 5 family members and a dog and a cat and a parrot, or the like.

I find it an interesting study that the this is used not only as a visual display, but as prolifically as it is. It might be a study in freedom of expression or the freedom we have in America to express ourselves or what we like or who we are voting for or who we love or who we hate.
