Decal Stickers Can Bring Life to Your Plain Painted Trucks

Truck decals are on almost every truck that comes to town. They are something that we’ve all become accustomed to, like billboards along the highway, but the reality is that many of them are highly creative, interesting and informative. Just by observing the driver’s choice of designs on his or her personal rig, you can learn a lot about the individual behind the wheel. It goes along with other cultural markings from the past, like decorated teepees, caveman markings on ancient cave walls, and graffiti throughout history in all types of cultures and civilizations. They are truly some modern art form worth paying attention to.

What Truck Decal Designs to Go For

decal for trucks What can be found on today’s modern rigs?  In short, just about anything goes. Sometimes truck stickers’ border on the risqué because everyone knows the trucker’s life is a long and lonely journey from town to town where he takes his cargo and completes the run to the final destination. The risqué sticker might help to break the ice when he or she comes to the truck stop. Without spending a lot of time and energy on tiresome conversation, truck graphics convey the basics.

If the trucker has a Confederate flag sticker on his truck, you’ll know he’s a southerner or is sympathetic to the Old South rebels and considers himself or herself a bit of a rebel or even a redneck. Even educated people like this design of states’ rights – independent of a strong, centrally run government. What else?  If you see a slim outline of an attractive female in her twenties or thirties, you’ll know that he likes the opposite sex and would like to meet a young lady in his travels for conversation and maybe more. There are some truckers who spell it all out in bold letter vinyl decals. There are truckers for Jesus or the infamous Nobody Rides for Free slogan. In short, don’t ask me for a stopover to the next city – I don’t do taxi rides!

Many drivers are mechanical wizards and are at least partially in love with their mean machine / vehicle / home / job / life. They respect the monstrous vehicle that regulates their life, and although their career is not an easy one, it’s not unusual for drivers to pay tribute to the beast that drives them with a graphic of some type. Nor it is unusual to see custom made ones made out in the spirit of the make and model of their truck. This is another point of reference for other truckers on the scene. Those with the same sort of vehicle will have something to talk about.

Truck Driving Culture

Driving trucks provides a special life and culture that somewhat resembles the cowboy of the old West. With many hours alone in the cab, truckers often communicate by way of CB radio, which is a lifesaver on the most desolate stretches. The driver’s code name or calling details may easily be posted by way of graphics in trucks, too.

Information to Show on Truck Decals

The most standard of information must also be shown on the cars in all 50 states. USDOT numbered decals on the side door must be put on or behind the cab doors, posted showing the truck driver’s license number, telephone, cellular phone, home base, and trucking details. Truck decals are not new, but since they are useful and resourceful, there is a good chance that they will continue to be used well into the future.
